OWCTB2DOCK12P OWC Thunderbolt 2 Dock on Mac Desktop - Any Success?

OWCTB2DOCK12P OWC Thunderbolt 2 Dock on a Mac Desktop:

Got one new, unopened at a yard sale. Note that they are discontinued by the manufacturer, are extremely expensive, and are hard to come by. I’m looking to use my OWC Thunderbolt 2 Dock on a Mac desktop (a 2018Mac mini) The model is: OWCTB2DOCK12P. Any firsthand experience using one on a Mac Desktop?

I use a self- powered Sabernt 4 port USB 3.0 hub that I had

connected a USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter

plugged into my 2018 Mac Mini.

Sabrent and others, also make USB-C to USB-A hubs for a lot less than you have invested so far.

Those were made for Mac's that had Thunderbolt 2 and I'm thinking that you are going to need a USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter and a male to male Thunderbolt 2 Cable to make that work with a 2018 or 2020 Mac Mini.

It might also partially work as a USB 3.0 hub using a USB-A 3.0 cable, but I can't say for sure.

Thank you for that.

I have both that adapter and that cable. My main goal is to get multiple USB-A Ports from that USB-C port. There's plenty of reports of it working with a MacBook Pro. It's just the Mac mini that is in question here.

So, if anyone out there has any firsthand experience with setting this up with a desktop, please let me know.

Call my OWC Adapter a steal - just $5.00 at a yard sale!😊

But knowing that those two work with a Mac mini, I feel more adjust to go with that.. I'll give it a shot after some research. Expect a follow up soon. Thanks!
