2013 MacBook Pro question mark on startup
I have a 2013 MacBook Pro running Big Sur that was working completely normally until last night. Then failed to boot and instead shows the question mark icon in folder flashing. I have already tried:
- Booting in recovery mode and running disk utility:
- No errors identified
- Erase drive greyed out
2. Reinstalling MacOS: unable to complete, did not register a target disk on which to install
3. Resetting the PRAM: unable to complete, didn't even get the second startup sound after 20-30 seconds holding Command + Option + P + R
4: Resetting the SMC: nothing happened
Anyone have any other ideas before I abandon ship?
