trouble with icloud
i had my moms apple id in my phone but then i logged out and signed into mine, now i’m getting all of her photos on my mac and have no idea how to make it stop.

It sounds like you did not do everything in this document:
What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch [or if you received one that had not been erased] - "Use these steps to remove your personal information from a device, even if you don't have it anymore." Click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT201351
One possibility is that when you changed Apple IDs on the device it asked if you wanted to keep old photos or delete them and you selected to keep them. Those photos taken by your mother then were added to your photo collection and because you are using iCloud photos they eventually make their way onto any device you are using with your ID.
