Drum Notation

Hi there,

I guess, this question must have been posted a lot of times, but unfortunately I didn't find an adequate answer...

  • I open up a LogicPro Drum track
  • I use presets to create some drum lines

  • Now I want to manipulate/edit these automatically generated lines in the piano roll or the score editor
  • The drum track is highlighted, I open the piano roll window
  • And nothing is shown, just the remark: No midi region elected

Question is quite simple: How can I manipulate/edit an automatically generated drum line manually with the piano roll...?

Any ideas

Thanks a lot

I got already one step further. I converted the drum track to midi, so it is editable. BUT: According to a variety of youtube tutorials you should now edit the drum track with the piano roll and manipulate the given instruments and timing. Unfortunately it's not working with me. The piano roll has no signs of instrument triggers (it's jut a bass kick) and it is not editable. Surprisingly I can edit the drum pattern in the score view, but this is very very uncomfortable.

Any idea what I have to do, to see the instruments in the priano roll and edit them?
