My iPhone screen cracked

My phone cracked but I didn’t drop it was n my purse its cracked right wear the speak on the phone is I don’t understand how it happened because there nothing n my purse that sharp and I have case and I had a glass screen protector on it…what could cause this and now on the bottom of my phone has like a shadow on it…. An it happen today
