High amount of reads on ssd

I have bought a m1 macbook air base model this year. Task syspolicyd is everyday reading 10 gb from ssd and kernel_task writing and reading 3gb of data each day. Would it affect my ssd in long run? How can i stop these task?

Hi TanmayDaga,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand you have a few concerns over processes running. The two items you mentioned are built-in processes that helps macOS perform more efficiently by performing startup checks and ensuring your macOS is running security as expected. There isn't a reason to be concerned from what's shown in your screenshot. If you notice performance issues with your Mac, check out the steps in the macOS User Guide.

Warm regards.

Reading from SSDs has no effect on the lifetime of an SSD.

However, SSDs do have a limited time that they can be written to. But generally on a 256 GB SSD, that limit is usually in the neighborhood of 200-250 terabytes or 200,000 to 250,000 gigabytes. To put the numbers in perspective, if you were to write 50 gigabytes of data to the drive each and every day, you would not achieve the lifetime limits mentioned for 12-13 years.
