Help with Kernel Panic Macbook Air M1

Hi.

My Macbook Air M1 is having Kernel Panic every day. It freezes and restarts. As I'm not an expert, can anyone please help me with the report I get?

Thanks

Suggest downloading the Application Etrecheck directly from a Trusted Developer and well Respected ASC Contributor. The application is free or paid from added features. Run the application with Full Disc Access ( Security & Privacy - Full Disc Access ). It will take a Snap Shot -  both the hardware and software. The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information. Post back the Full Report - copy and paste - using the Additional Text Icon ( 3rd Icon to last )

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues.

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, alter, modify, remove or delete or attempt to do so is an invitation for disaster and may require a Reinstallation of the OS.

Point One - if as you say " I removed Avira and Nord VPN, they were uninstalled already " then they would not be appearing in the EtreCheck report. There might be elements remaining on the computer.

Point Two - it is up to the the User ( you ) what is the correct course of action to be taken. Can on suggest and no more than that.

Thank you for your answer.

Regarding your question, no, the mac has been setup from scratch, nothing has been imported.

I removed Avira and Nord VPN, they were uninstalled already when I launched Etrecheck, so I don't have those apps running anymore.

Regarding Telegram, Discord and Kindle, I still have them and I'm unsure of how much they weight toward underperformance.

I do not have many apps installed, probably less than 10. I started the mac from scratch and only got some essentials to work and that's it.

I read around that some other people have this issue and even with formatting they do not solve it, so I'm not sure if that would be a viable solution.

I was curious if you ended up figuring out the cause for your issue, or what you did to resolve this?

We have been purchasing the new Macbook Air's with the M1 Apple Chips. Each user has been experiencing Kernel Panics multiple times a day. We have been slowly removing applications/peripherals from the machines but so far hasn't made a difference.

At this point we have to disrupt our client's day to day and take one of their new Mac's out of production to figure out the reason for the problem. Once we figure out what's going on I will reply back into this thread and maybe, just maybe it'll help you too. :)

Firstly, from you original description and with the Limited Access Report of Etrecheck would understand the Crashes happening.

When this Brand New MBA M1 Computer was originally setup was Migrations Assist used to to bring over a Time Machine Backup or connected Old computer to this computer ? Judging from the supplied report it certainly looks like it.

This computer is under a great deal of excessive I/O and as report below will reduce performance. If one wants to reduce the Crashes and Increase performance - there is a good amount of work to be done to clean up the installed applications and find more suitable Native Big Sur compatible versions IMHO

Apps crashing - There have been numerous app crashes.

Unsigned files - There are unsigned software files installed. Apple has said that unsigned software will not run by default in a future version of the operating system.

Heavy I/O usage - Your system is under heavy I/O use. This will reduce your performance.

x86-only Apps - This computer has x86-only apps might not work on future versions of the operating system.

Limited drive access - More information may be available with Full Drive Access.

Kernel extensions present - This computer has kernel extensions that may not work in the future.
