Can't pair apple watch

Trying to pair an apple watch. I get a message telling me to update the watch. I then get a message telling me I must update my phone. My phone is up to date with the latest software and at that point, all I can do is cancel the pairing. I have restarted both devices multiple times and I still get the same results. Please help!

Apple Watch setup issue Hello I am trying to pair my series 3 Apple Watch to my iPhone 12 but everytime I try it tells me I have to update the watch I hit update and it says you must update your iPhone before you can update your watch I hit update and it takes me to me settings and in there it says I am on the latest update my only option from there is to Cancle and stop pairing watch I’m stuck in this loop anyone know how to fix this ?

i can't pair my apple watch I have an apple watch 4 which hasn't been used for over a year. When I'm now trying to pair it, it requires the watchOS to be updated. This is where it fails.. I've tried it on two different iPhones, both running iOS 14.2. The watch app says "your software is up to date", but from there, I can only tap cancel which brings me to the screen that says it needs to be updated again. [Link Edited by Moderator]

Series 3 watch ( unsure about software), can’t get beyond the pairing screen)

Which models of watch and phone do you have?.

And what version of software is each one running?.
