Photos app - Smart folder not working

Hi,

I'm trying to find specific photos in my library based on camera model and have created a new Smart Folder in Photos. However, this doesn't return any photos and I can't see what's wrong. Anyone seen this before or have any suggestions to troubleshoot / solve?

My issue is that It also looks like you are also unable to use photos.app search to look for photos with certain characteristics (Eg cat, dog, horse, car etc), only stored meta data and tagged images (eg People) Can anyone else confirm this is the case that storing your library on an external means photos search does not work and not an unrelated issue?

Locating photos in Finder I resized a photo in Preview and I tried to export it to Photos. I located my Photos Library in the Pictures folder in Finder, but the file I want the exported photo to go to "2023" is not shown. I know I could use the "Photos Library" file but it is grayed out. Where do I go from here? Also, there are old folders I used to use in iphoto. Should I delete them?

Figured it out! (User error)

The Smart Album selection box for camera model is a drop down box and will show all the camera models Photos is aware of. The Huawei devices I had are known as: EVA-L09 or VKY-L09. Once selected the required photos are displayed.
