Country setting and payment currency

Hi!

I have an iPhone 12. I’m living in the USA and so have just changed the country setting on my iPhone account to US from U.K, which is where I was living before, for if I want to download any apps in future. (Some apps wouldn’t download for me here in the US before I made this change).

My question is, when it asks me to supply my card details for my account, is it best to use a US card in USD currency or can I continue using my U.K. card and pay in GBP currency and not incur any charges/fees by doing so? I can’t quite get my head around this part of it all.
