Weak internet security

I am getting a message on connecting to WiFi at my home that reads, “WPA/WPA2 (TKIP) is not considered secure. If this is your WiFi network, configure the router to use WPA2 (AES) if WPA3 security type”.

I have spoke with my internet provider who says it is an issue on Apples side. Does anyone know how to correct this? Please advise.

It is a warning from Apple, not an issue on Apples side; i.e., the warning is from Apple, but the issue is the router's security settings or the router's age if it doesn't support AES.

To improve security you need to change the settings on your router to either WPA2 (AES) or to WPA3. Exactly how you do that depends on the brand and model of your router. You can do an internet search for instructions for your router brand and model.
