I have an ipad connected to a printer that is right next to each other. They are connected via bluetooth. Why does the bluetooth device (printer) keep disconnecting from the ipad which is set to never lock?

This is certainly an unusual use of Bluetooth. Normally iPad is connected to printer by sharing a Wi-Fi connection with an AirPrint capable printer.

It’s not clear that an iPad’s Bluetooth capabilities include interfacing with a printer.
I am using this for a visitor management system and the printers are to print badges. The ipads are hardwired and the printers are connected via bluetooth to the ipad. Is there a timeout feature enabled for bluetooth?
