Add iPads to DEP

We have a bunch of old iPads that we would like to be able to manage via DEP, however, the feature to add them ourselves via School Manager no longer exists. We tried to contact our current vendor to see if they could add them and they said "these weren’t purchased from us so Apple’s system prevents us from adding them."

How do we add them?

You can add them using Apple Configurator 2.

Use Automated Device Enrollment

Assign devices added from Apple Configurator 2 to Apple School Manager

Thanks! This worked on most of the iPads I had. There were a few that just failed with random errors codes that when searched came up with nothing. I guess I'll have to manage those manually. The iPads are getting old and pretty useless when you can't update the iOS and the apps only support new iOS versions.
