iMessage Toggle isn’t working

Hi, so I recently signed out of my iMessage after turning it off on my 12 Pro Max. I did the same for FaceTime and after resigning into FaceTime I tried to do the same for iMessage but the toggle won’t come on. I’ve tried everything I can to fix this which includes: restarting the phone, turning on and off airplane mode, resetting network settings, backing my iMessage on iCloud but NOTHING is working. iMessage and FaceTime works fine on my iPad but it’s just not coming on, on my phone. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hey Celly_J

Since signing out of iMessage, you haven't been able to sign in/enable it because it is grayed out. We suggest testing on cellular data and also different Wi-Fi networks.

Also, make sure the date, time, and time zone are correct: If you can’t change the time or time zone on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch Not being correct could cause an issue.

Confirm that the latest software version, iOS 14.6 is installed. Prior to checking, create a recent backup of your iPhone: Back up iPhone To check for a software update, follow the steps here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If none of the steps above help, make sure that there is a text messaging plan still with your wireless carrier, and you're able to send text messages with no issue. Also, if you're getting any error messages, send the exact message. This information may help get you more responses.

Take care.
