Is there a way to just post screen shots to clipboard every time on Mac?

Depends on which version of macOS you are running. If on Big Sur, Catalina or Mojave, press command + shift + 5 and click on Options. Select Clipboard.

I don't understand why screen capture doesn't work. I have the keyboard shortcuts set as default but they don't let me capture the screen. This is such an essential function for everyday work. I keep having to go back to my PC for it and I don't like that I can't quickly capture the screen on the Mac. I don't seem to have the new screen capture app. I briefly downloaded some apps from app store but they didn't work either.

Screenshot to clipboard Is there a way to have a screenshot automatically copied to the clipboard? As in: Take a screenshot, paste the result wherever. I recall that this is what used to happen.
