I haven't updated my imac in awhile OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, but am trying to get everything up to date. When I try to update via About Mac > Software Update nothing happens. Does anyone know how I can resolve this? Thank you

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which iMac model you have, click on High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur.

Thank you for the quick response, how do I know which iOS I can update to? I have a iMAC 21.5" mid 2011. I have been using my laptop, so I will plan on buying a new iMac this year.
