Scanner Error on Epson XP-640 keeps coming up as Error Code 1600, ever since Apple Upgrade.
Have uninstalled, reinstalled - everything! Can't seem to get the message off the printer's memory, rendering my entire All-in-One Epson XP-640 useless..
Would surely appreciate any advice.

Reset the Printing System:
I had the same issue with my Epson Eco Tank Printers - Reseting the Printing System fixed it, as the drivers were installed in an instant.

Epson XP-640 is mentioned in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. This means that you do not have to install drivers, if the printer is connected to the same network as the computer.
For a USB connection, drivers are used. Try to reset the printing system and re-add the printer. Check whether the operating system suggests suitable drivers.

Drivers/software from the printer manufacturer may or may not add functionality.
(if you are not using macOS High Sierra 10.13, please change the operating system).
Hi,
A quick web search appears to indicate that a loose scanner cable could be one possible explanation for an error 100016. This may or may not be true for your printer, but if it is, it should an easy repair for a technician.
Did not work. Have tried absolutely everything.
Simply cannot remove the Error Code 10016 off the Printer's Screen.
Have wasted days on trying to fix the Epson XP-640, so am giving up. It's going in the trash along with over $100 worth of new ink cartridges recently installed. :-(
