I have a brand-new Ipad 8th gen. I am trying to get my Google calendars added to the calendar app, which works on the iPhone and the Mac. When I log in, it shows the screen allowing me to select mail, calendars etc. for a few seconds, then goes back, not having added the account. Found a possible fix here, but it doesn't work. I don't have a gmail account, as that might matter.
Help?

Congratulations on your new iPad, and thanks for participating in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue adding your Google Calendar account. If you haven't already, restart your iPad as restarting can resolve many odd issues: Restart your iPad
After restarting, use the steps under "Turn on iCloud, Google, Exchange, or Yahoo calendars" to see if that account will now allow you to add it: Set up multiple calendars on iPad
