What is "other"??
Of my 121 GB of space on the hard drive of my Mac Mini, over 71 GB is listed as "Other". Not system files, or documents, or music or photos. And "Other" is grayed out, so that I can't access those files and remove or move those files to Cloud storage or my external hard drive. I have moved or cut all the large files I can, and still don't have sufficient space to add OS Big Sur. I cannot account for the 71 GB of lost space by searching through Finder. Is there some way I can identify the files that comprise this 71 GB? Also, is there a tool to defragment the hard drive, in order to make it store more efficiently and smoothly - or is that a PC thing only? Which files can I move to my 1 TB external hard drive, and is there a downside to doing that?
