Frozen log in screen

log in screen frozen on new Mac book air. I have now tried many versions of password so it’s locked me out. I’ve tried the fixes but have realised that the internet went down and I have had to reset other devices in the house. I suspect fixes are not working because it’s not connected to internet. Any ideas?
