Send playing track directly to Amazon Echo

I would like to send the current playing song (or playlist) to the Amazon echo, since it is easier to browse from Apple Music App. I can do it with Spotify. Is there a way to do it with Apple Music?

 asphixmx,

You can play anything from your device by asking Alexa but with Apple Music, it does not seem it would be possible to "... choose one, press PLAY, then send the playing to the Echo."

We would suggest reaching out to Amazon support to learn more about the available features with Alexa and Apple Music. You can also contact Apple Support, however, the information in the resource linked above explains the available features with Apple Music and Alexa. Here's how to Get Support.

Cheers.

Hello asphixmx,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you’re trying to play your Apple Music content on Amazon Echo speakers. We’d like to help.

We see you’re coming to us from Play Apple Music with Alexa. Did you try all of the suggestions in that resource? Specifically, the section under “Set up Apple Music with Alexa.”?

If you’re still having trouble linking Apple Music to your Amazon device, we would suggest contacting Amazon support as a next step. Follow the link under “Get help” in the resource linked above.

Have a nice day.

Thanks for your answer. But no, you misunderstood. I AM able to play Apple Music through Alexa. The scenario I would like to do is BROWSE, SEARCH, etc, then play the music in the “music” app in the iPhone; THEN send this song to be played in my Alexa., so I can say “pause”, “next”, etc and hear the music in my Alexas.

I currently can play Apple Music in Alexa saying “play my English Pop playlist”. But I can’t send a song that is playing in my iPhone. I need to create a playlist in the iPhone , save it and then ask Alexa to play it, I would like to listen my current playing list in the iPhone, in Alexa with no need to save it and then ask Alexa to play it.

Hi Jeff.

Yes, with bluetooth is possible, I know. But with this bluetooth method, I can´t "free" my phone, it is tied to the Echo device. What I would like to do is that once I looked and found my playlist in the iPhone and begin to play, pass the control and the playing to the Echo. Then I can switch off my phone if I want to. The playlist is now playing on the Echo and then say, for example "Alexa, pause". With spotify and Amazon Music it is posible to do so.

Currently only with apple music, If I want to play a playlist on Alexa I must know the playlist name (for example My Last Summer Songs) and say "Alexa play My last summer songs playlist from Apple Music". If I have 50 playlists, it is impossible to remember all playlist's names. With Spotify or Amazon Music APPS, I can, with the iPhone, browse comfortably trhough all my playlists, choose one, press PLAY, then send the playing to the Echo. Then turn off my phone if I want, or make a call or view YouTube. The music is playing in the Echo and I can pause, next, etc with my voice and listen to all Echos devices in my home. The playing and the control is now on the Echo. Is Apple Music able to do this? Spotify & Amazon Music apps can. I really want to switch to Apple Music and leave Spotify, but I need this feature.
