VLC Player with APPLE TV Port Question

Im using an ASUS RT-AC88U router and wanting to connect with VLC app on Apple TV, my challenge is


  1. How to locate the Port number ?

A router is not necessarily the same as a server (although it is not impossible to combine the two). Why do you want to connect the app to your router? I would expect you to connect to a computer or NAS where media files reside.


For SMB shares, the default port is 445. It is likely that the default will be used if you leave the port field empty (advised).
