Apple refusing to repair

Hi,

Question for the group. I took my MacBook Air in to be fixed as the Enter key had come off. 10 days later I receive a message that they have found another issue.

I have received a picture showing liquid damage....... Now a long time a go I spilt a drink, cleaned it up ASAP and never had a single problem with the laptop It works perfectly.

Now they are refusing to replace the enter keys as they found water damage........

These are 2 separate issue and nothing to do with one another.......

They want £750+ VAT (basically the cost of a now MacBook Air) to fix the issue that wasn't actually an issue

Anyone else experienced anything similar and have advise on what I should do next???

I can't afford to. just drop £900 on a repair.... or lets face it just buy myself a new laptop

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.4

Apple repairs are all or nothing with very few exceptions except when it involves some of the free repair programs.

If you have a 2017 or earlier MBAir, then you can find replacement key caps and scissor mechanisms online. However, beware that most Apple laptops have at least two variations of the key cap & scissor mechanism so you want to make sure to get the correct one for your particular laptop. Make sure the vendor you are purchasing from has very clear information about how to identify which key cap/scissor mechanism you need.
