My mac stopped working and flashed a question mark folder. No errors were found after restarting and running disk utility. What do I do next?

A blinking folder on startup is in an indicator that the startup disk can either not be found or doesn't contain a working version of macOS.
First, try the troubleshooting tips listed in the article here.
If these don't work, because you mentioned you were in Disk Utility, assuming you were in Recovery, you can either reinstall macOS from there or by creating a bootable installer (using another Macintosh). Though reinstalling macOS doesn't typically remove personal files, always be sure to make a backup first.
