eSIM problem with iPhone XS, phone unlocked but restricted?

Hi Community,

I have an iPhone Xs, which I bought second hand (from Swappie). As far as my current operator (Comviq, Sweden) can tell, the device is unlocked. In About -> General, the Network Provider Lock says "No SIM restrictions". I tried to purchase a data plan via another operator, but when trying to install the data plan on my phone, I get the following message: "Data plans from this network provider cannot be added. Your device can only use data plans from a different network provider". I tried to google around that message but don't get any other explanation than that it is restricted one way or another.

How can I find out how the device is restricted, and if so, by whom? Is there a way to lift that restriction?

Best regards,

Lionel

Is your device jailbroken?

It would be better if you can please re-post with a screenshot, in order to understand the phenomenon better. Images / pictures speak louder than words. Do not provide any personal credentials, such as email id, apple id, IMEI number, Serial Number, Phone number, Order ID, if you are sharing a map ensure your location is not identifiable. Etc.
