Just bought a new Apple AirPad Leather Key Ring. However I open the Box and there is no battery case in the airtag

That is correct. The Key rings are just that key rings. They are sold separately to the AirTags. You buy the Air Tags and then you buy the key ring and then you put one in the other.

Nobody ever said the key ring would include an AirTag. In fact the Online store entry explicitly states that they are sold separately.

I'm not sure what you mean by no battery case in the AirTag? Do you mean the empty space in the leather ring? That's where you would put your AirTag (sold separately)

If you just bought it return it within 14 days of purchase and get your money back. It says right of the box what is inside.
