You have a variety of options to transfer files.
I know I’m answering my own question but I didn’t see any open communities that I could give my reply to.
so I wanted to get a video of 0.99GB off my Aunties PC onto my photos app on all my devices but when I tried plugging it in it just wouldn’t and came up with connection problems and this is after buying a USB-C lead for this exact problem so I wasn’t too happy and apple support wasn’t too help full.
So !!! What you wanna do is open a onedrive account, open it on google and import your video, then download the OneDrive app on your phone or iPad and then press the three little dots next to your video; hit download, it will then be imported into your photos app.
thus syncing with your iCloud will then be uploaded onto every device.
It would be if you synced the video from another device. The fact you moved the video from another device, it puts it the same as synced photos, they are in a separate album, but synced movies go to the Apple TV app.
The only way is via iTunes. Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support
I tried, it just uploaded the video into my Apple tv app which I wasn’t fond of and was messy, I like things to be where they should.
The Apple TV app is the app on the iPhone to watch those videos that come from other devices. I'm sorry you weren't fond of it, but that is how it works.
You could also just directly upload the file into photos at iCloud.com. That would serve the same purpose and update any connected device (to that account) without all the other pieces.
I disagree I think the apple tv app is for movies and tv series, not personal videos.
