Apple only provides the "Find My" feature to allow you to attempt to locate your lost or stolen Apple devices. Apple, otherwise, does not get involved and there is no mechanism available to report it to them. Instead, you would report a stolen item (depending on what it is) to your local law enforcement agency and your cellular provider (for iPhones).

The "Find My" feature may not work in a number of situations as it depends on the device's ability to "call home."

Sticking with AirPods, the following would all have to be true to have a chance to locate them:

  • Find My iPhone must have been enabled BEFORE they were lost or stolen.
  • The AirPods are within range of your devices (iOS or macOS).
  • They are not in their charging case.
  • They are still charged.
  • The AirPods have not been reset

Your post is extremely confusing and misleading.

That is incorrect.

And since you’re talking about AirPods, there is no facility to report them as stolen, whether they’re offline or online. There is no coverage for stolen AirPods.
