iPad 6 on iOS 14.6 Not Syncing iCloud Photos

My iPad 6 running iOS 14.6 has completely stopped syncing iCloud photos. My iPhone and MacBook Pro sync with no problems. Even my very old iPad 2 is syncing my new photos. I’ve searched online for solutions but nothing has worked. I don’t know if the next iOS update might fix this but I need for this to work again now. Can any of you suggest or point me to solutions? Thanks in advance.

Pixel Pup,

Thanks for trying those steps and for letting us know. To verify, on the iPad, if you go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos, does it show iCloud Photos is enabled? Does your device show that you have enough device internal storage? What about iCloud Storage? Do you have enough space there?

If you have enough space and your settings appear correct, you may want to Contact Apple for support and service.

Kind regards!

Thank you for responding. I have taken all the obvious steps several times such as restarting, toggling WiFi on/off, switching physical locations and connecting to other WiFi sources. I even upgraded my iCloud space to 2TB hoping that might help. Nothing I’ve tried has made any change. I’m at a complete loss here as I used my iPad heavily for in the field photo review.

I should also point out that each time I’ve tried to post here I get timed out errors. I’m once again responding from my iPhone.

Pixel Pup,

We can understand wanting to find out what is taking up Other space on your iPhone. Other data files are temporary files that are automatically deleted when space is needed. A good example is if you watch a video from YouTube, it will keep downloading the video in the background. As it is playing, a temporary file is created. It retains that file until space is needed. So if you rewatch that video, you won’t have to re-download it. The same thing goes for music, other types of files, and apps.

System storage is a combination of space taken by the iOS software and the supporting files, such as Siri voices, caches, and logs. It’s not possible to manually delete this data. We’d recommend following this resource for more information about iOS storage: How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Cheers!
