iCloud tabs won’t close, keep coming back

Hi — I’ve been having an issue with Safari across all of my devices and am wondering if anyone’s found a solution yet. I have my tabs synced via iCloud across Mac, iPhone and iPad. I noticed the other day that random tabs from months ago started showing up as currently synced iCloud tabs, saying they’re from my phone. I open safari on my phone, but I don’t have any tabs open.

I’ve closed all tabs on all devices, have gone onto safari’s desktop landing page and have closed all tabs manually, cleared history and all web data, reset the devices… they still come back, saying that these 30 tabs are currently open on my phone. Anyone having this issue? All devices are running current software as of today. I don’t know what else to do!

Thanks so much for your help. I think that’s solved it. I un-synced iCloud on each device then restarted them all… seems to be working! All the old tabs have disappeared.

Excellent job with the troubleshooting steps that were performed. To help isolate this issue further, let's temporarily turn off Safari on your iOS devices and your Mac. Then restart each device and turn Safari back on for iCloud. From there, let's see if you continue to experience the same behavior.
