Battery preferences are greyed out and cannot be adjusted. MacBook times out in a couple minutes even when plugged in. Any suggestions?

Who Installed the Battery?:
Sometimes, you get an error like this when a third-party installs a battery that is not officially Apple certified. So, who replaced this? It may not be an official Apple certified battery.
They are an authorized reseller repair.
You have probably hit on the answer.
We are locked down because of Covid so I won't be able to take it back to them for another couple weeks.
