The sound output device does not automatically switch between internal & external speakers, when I plugin or plug out the external speaker from the port.

Try Resetting the Core Audio:
Type the following command in Terminal:***
sudo killall coreaudiod

We understand you are having trouble with automatic switching of sound output on your MacBook Pro.
Could you explain a bit more what this looks like in System Preferences > Sound? When you unplug the external speaker, expected behavior would be that it will remove the external speaker from the list, and will select the built in speakers as the sound output device.
Are you receiving any error messages when this occurs? Are you able to test the behavior with other external speakers- wired or wireless, to see if it occurs with multiple output devices?
You may also want to ensure all software updates for the Mac have been completed.
