Logitech M590 will not connect to BRAND NEW MacBook Pro M1

I have tried everything. Bluetooth is on. I press the center button on the mouse for 3 seconds, it blinks rapidly. I look up at the BRAND NEW M1 screen and.... nothing. It connected fine to my iPad Pro 2018 IMMEDIATELY but for some reason the MacBook Pro, which came out last year, is not finding my brand new M590 that I bought specifically for this MacBook. It connected to my iPad Pro and my AirPods Pro but for some reason it doesn't want to find or connect to my mouse. Can anyone help me here?

Ok, for some reason I had to go through bluetooth and not the Mouse in System Preferences like all the reviews said I should. It popped up as soon as I held the button down for 3 seconds.
