Big Sur update broke my HDMI capabilities

Following the Big Sur update which I just recently installed, my HDMI connection is no longer detected by my Macbook Air (11", 2015). The HDMI connection works fine with other devices and worked fine with my Air before I updated to Big Sur. This is very frustrating and disappointing.

MacBook Air 11″, macOS 11.4

Sometimes an SMC Reset will put things right. Perform this actions three times consecutively>> and Test.

While doing this try the NVRAM or PRAM Reset also three times >> and Test

Failing the above - restart in Safe Mode and Test in this mode and report back - time permitting
