unpair apple watch from apple id

My phone got dropped in water a few months ago and I had to get a new phone and apple id. When I tried to pair my watch to my new phone, it is still connected to my old apple id and I dont know how to unpair it.

To unpair and erase watch and remove Activation Lock.

On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

Go to Find Iphone.

Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.

Click Erase Apple Watch.

Select Next until the device is erased.

Click the remove button next to your Apple Watch.
