Why do I have a yellow dot next to my battery when I’m on a call ?

That Yellow/Orange dot next to the battery symbol is there to inform you that your Microphone is in use. Whenever an app uses the iPhone's Microphone, then the dot will appear. This makes you aware that the Microphone is in use. Its for your information and awareness.
