Hello! I am trying to use my mid 2010 21.5" iMac with High Sierra 10.13.6 as a target display for my Mac Book Air 2017 also with High Sierra 10.13.6. I have a mini display cable connecting both computers, but the target display does not seem to work. I tried all the tips from the website, but still no luck. Anything else you would recommend?

21,5" 2010 iMacs were never supported. TDM would need a 27" 2010 iMac to work. In short, its not going to work!

The iMac (21.5 inch, Mid 2010) model cannot be used as an external display. Here is an article with more information.
