"The Keep Messages setting has been reset to Forever because a device was added to Messages in iCloud"

My phone is messed up I never new anything about this software my husband had me restore my phone in his iTunes and this showed up! He swears he didn’t do anything to it but I woke up this morning snd my messages piped up with a message saying someone added a device to my messages and changed my settings to forever! I’ve made several police reports due to being hacked and then I get in iCloud to see if I can turn messages off and it won’t let sign out however there is an app that is Chinese message extension I tried to delete it and it was not there last night someone is hacking this phone I did not put this software and everywhere I want to restore to factory setting to iOS regular software somehow iTunes won’t let me! Microsoft azure government popped up one day with healthcare and cloud thing and I listen to my husband brag about these courses he’s taking however now I’m getting hacked to the point I almost killed myself i was having messages pop up saying where’s josh Webb where’s josh Webb when I would look up his location it showed longitude latitude and it came back where I’m at then to top it off everyone in town thought I’m crazy cause they wouldn’t believe me! And my husband swears to god he didn’t work with Microsoft and do anything but I found remote desk top on his computer with log in for 25 devices and he has a raspberry pi and kali Linux! Oh the app in iCloud was Chinese key logging app and the one I found in messages was chines message extension here’s screen shoots! I’m gonna make another police report today!

There is a lot to unpack in that run-on paragraph but, as other customers here, we’ll try her best to help you.

To start you need to get control of your computer because it sounds like do you have a bunch of malware on it.

As for your iPhone and Apple ID it sounds like your Apple ID was compromised. You’ll want to follow https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204145 to regain control of your Apple ID first.

Once your computer is clear, or by using a different computer that you know is not full of malware, you restore your iPhone to factory settings following https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252

After the restore to factory settings you were going to set up the iPhone without using a back up so you don’t bring anything from before back onto it. Since you’ve already regain control of your Apple ID you can still sign into it and manually download the contact you want again and turn on iCloud settings again safely.

If someone else can sign into your Apple ID/iCloud then you still need to follow that link I gave you because you do not have full control if someone you don’t know is also using it.

as for any unknown other devices you need to follow both of the below links to remove any unknown device:

  1. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204074
  2. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205064
