I've created the Tech ID, logged into GSX but can't register for any assessments or view any details. I keep being brought back to this information page.. What do I need to do?

Hi yayalogic123,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help with tech certifications.

Did you see the How to access ATLAS link? It can take 24 hours if you just signed up.

"How to access ATLAS

Learn about the Apple Technical Learning Administration System (ATLAS).

What is ATLAS?

ATLAS (Apple Technical Learning Administration System) is AppleCare Service Training's website for online training and other learning resources. Use ATLAS to prepare for the certifications required to service Apple products.

How do I access ATLAS?

To access ATLAS, you need to have an active Global Service Exchange (GSX) account. GSX accounts are limited to technicians working at Apple-authorized service facilities. If you just received a GSX account, allow 24 hours and then go to the ATLAS website."

Have a fantastic day!

Are you accessing GSX2 or Legacy GSX? I believe most things need to be accessed from within GSX2.

Are you working for an Apple Authorized Service Provider with a GSX service account in good standing?

If so, then make sure the person with GSX administrator privileges at that AASP location has given you permission to access ATLAS and the Certifications (this can be tricky to do as there isn't a lot of details on the various options and the interface is very confusing to use). If you are still having issues, then search GSX for articles on the proper method of contacting the appropriate team at Apple (may require another tech with proper permissions at the AASP). An authorized tech at an AASP can also chat or escalate the issue with CSS (Channel Support Services) to get this information as well. If no one has this access, then contact the GSX Manager for the GSX account for the AASP you are working for.

This is a public forum and some of what you need to know cannot be discussed here. Everything you need to know can be found within GSX (sometimes with difficulty). Or you can contact CSS through GSX for assistance and if you don't have access to CSS due to not having the necessary permissions, then you will need to contact the GSX Manager for the GSX account for your AASP location. Someone in charge at the AASP should have the necessary contact information.

If you wait and follow the great suggestions by @MichaelB2019, then you or an authorized tech for the GSX account will need to contact GSX support (aka CSS ) for assistance or to have them provide the proper contact information to resolve the issue. There should be an ATLAS or certifications documents available within GSX with the contact information, but they can sometimes be hard to find.

As @MichaelB2019 mentions it can take time (a day or perhaps several days) for the Apple systems to be updated with your information. It can sometimes take days for ATLAS training or certification exam results to appear under your GSX AppleID. Unless you are the first employee at your location to become certified you should ask one of the other certified techs for assistance & guidance. I highly recommend you read up on general AASP guidelines which is usually contained in a PDF so you understand what Apple expects as it will contain much more information on general procedures than any training within ATLAS. You will also definitely want to read the service guides for the products you want to repair. I hope you already have good troubleshooting skills as the current service guides are lacking in a lot of areas as Apple does not even understand their own products. Also traditional troubleshooting logic sometimes goes out the door when working with the USB-C Macs and recent versions of macOS.

Good luck and try to keep your sanity. I'm not sure I'm still sane after working with USB-C Macs for four years now. They make troubleshooting Windows issues so seem like a cake walk.

Thank you but after waiting for over 3 weeks, I'm still unable to register. The most that happens is that I can log into Global Certifications Exchange at the following link

https://idmsa.apple.com/IDMSWebAuth/login.html?appIdKey=bfb0171cf5421a919189706e67780f9f127fed5d4feb2be5d622ef001c75c369&rv=2&language=US-EN

Here I can see various types of Assessments, click on the assessment code, where I have the option to "Register" and when I click that, I'm sent to the link below.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205332

I only have option to go to GSX via the following link

https://idmsa.apple.com/IDMSWebAuth/classicLogin.html?appIdKey=45571f444c4f547116bfd052461b0b3ab1bc2b445a72138157ea8c5c82fed623

and when I enter my credentials, it tells me "Access Not Provisioned"

What am I missing? Or is taking Apple technical assessments and certification not open to public? Do you have to be invited or be working for apple or apple authorized stores to even apply?

Thanks for your support.
