If iPhone dies, will my activity/rings still close on my sharing list?

Hello! Okay so if my phone dies, and I close my activity rings on my Apple Watch, will friends that I’m sharing this information with still see that I closed my rings? Or even if I don’t close my rings, will they be able to see my step counter if phone is dead/stolen.

Greetings rc216,

We understand that you’re asking about whether Activity Sharing is updated without your companion iPhone nearby and/or powered on.

The following article goes over what your Apple Watch is capable of, depending on the model, when your companion iPhone is not nearby, or possibly in this case, powered off. Use your Apple Watch without your iPhone nearby

Also, per Share your Activity and compete with friends with your Apple Watch you do need access to your companion iPhone to get updates about your friend’s activity each day.

Thanks.
