Have You Been Locked Out of Your iPhone?

My daughter deleted her Apple ID from a new iPhone 11 that I bought for her, in order to create a new Apple ID because of problems she was having with the old ID. In doing so she forgot to sign out of her Apple ID on her devices. As a result she has lost the use her new phone and other devices she owns for the last several months. She must enter her password for her old Apple ID in order to remove it but because she deleted the account, the old password isn't recognized. I've spent literally 30 to 40 hours on the phone with Apple - was sent down to one of their stores, where they managed to reset the phone, killing any ability for my daughter to use it at all - and sent in multiple requests for an activation lock removal to their engineering department with all the required documentation but have been told there is nothing they can do and nothing they will do. The activation lock request team keeps replying they can't help at this time, period - and no way to reply to them. They tell me this is a security feature to protect me against having my phone stolen - thanks so much. So I'm out well over $1000 after having the phone for a couple of months. As well, my daughter has lost the use of her old iPhone 6s and iphone 4 (which she could use as an iPod). Apple tells me tough luck. In fact, if my daughter had just bought and forgotten to sign out of a brand new, fully decked out $50,000 Mac Pro (we're in Canada) it would be the same response - tough luck. And no, they won't consider replacing the phone because this is user error (I guess it's a strain for a 2 trillion dollar company). There is no one to escalate this to - end of story. So I'm wondering, anyone else here have the same problem? Any solutions?

"Make sure that you sign out of all your devices to avoid issues with apps that use your Apple ID account or iCloud. After your account is deleted, you can't sign out of iCloud or turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock on your devices. If you forget to sign out, you might not be able to use your device when your account is deleted."
