AppleCare+ after 60 days
I ran across a few articles stating that after the complimentary AppleCare expires after 60 days, you can bring your device to a Genius Bar and have AppleCare added that way. Is this true?

Basically no. You have 60 days, from the purchase date, to purchase an AppleCare+ plan. Once that window has passed, it is no longer available for your device.

I believe that is a misunderstanding. You need to add AppleCare+ on a new device before the 60 days expires. The information is in the Related Article that you came to the forum with, but I'll put it here again, Buy an AppleCare plan - Apple Support
This is from that document.
In most countries and regions, you can buy AppleCare+ within 60 days of your device purchase. In Japan, you can buy AppleCare+ within 30 days of your device purchase.
Got it - thanks!
