How can I prevent installation of 3rd party sms and call forwarding mobile app or for instance ask for password or warning in case of changing such settings?

A recent fraud in India where during an online transaction the fraudster convince the user to install an app for payment which was actually SMS forwarder app such as SPRING SMS by which all the messages that are sent to the victim also get forwarded to a number specified by the fraudster. Then fraudster immediately misuses the OTP to complete financial transactions from the victim’s account.

You have an iPhone 11. You cannot load (side load) an app on your iPhone from outside of the App Store unless your iPhone is Jailbroken. If your iPhone is not Jailbroken then the app that is to be installed has to be installed from the App Store. “Spring SMS” is not an app in the App Store so it cannot be installed on an iPhone. Also, there is no text forwarding feature available on an iPhone for the registered phone number(s). The security features against this type of a scam are already there.

The example that you gave in your post may have been related to non iOS devices, in my opinion.
