I am thinking of buying it in the US since it is a lot cheaper but am wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to rearrange the keys on the new MacBook air with the m1 chip? Is there any way I can type å, ä, ö without having to tap multiple buttons?

You just switch the input source from US to Swedish to get the accented characters on the top level of the keys, as if it were a Swedish keyboard.

Hi,
You can configurate the ANSI keyboard (US spec) to recibe a Swedish configuration via System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Type and select "Swedish". You can see an on-screen diagram of the layout.
Not sure if you will need to use múltiple buttons to get some special letters.
