2019 MacBook Pro with broken screen

Need to connect an external monitor to my 2019 MacBook Pro (the screen was broken and I can’t see anything (blackout)) to do a backup or disable find my iPhone prior to service.

I have a USC-C to HDMI cable and the monitor.

any suggestions?

the operating system has started blocking the recognition of my non-MAC monitor My operating system is the Mac Ventura 13.01 on my MacBook Air. I purchased from the Apple Store a Belkin attachment so that I could use my SyncMaster 940bx monitor as a second display. It was working just fine for several months then, about a week ago, I got a pop message that asked whether I wanted to allow the device. I clicked yes. Now suddenly when the Mac operating system detects it is there, it will show it in Displays for a few seconds and then it will not recognize it. It is not the cable. It gave me flashbacks to the Microsoft Operating system days when the system was designed to knock out any competition. Does anyone know a work around or some other attachment device that will work? I am not purchasing a MAC monitor.

plug it in, make the connection to the Mac computer the LAST thing you connect.

The external display should become active, but blank.

press Command-BrightnessDown to toggle [√] Mirror Displays
