how do I copy an application (not file) from my Mac to my Iphone

If the application is not designed for iPhone (iOS), you can't put it on your iPhone. Go to the App Store on your phone and if the app is available you can download it on your phone. If it isn't available in the App Store on your phone, you can't get it on iPhone.
