Imovie

I'm trying to download imovie but it says I can't because I need the updated OS but when I try to do a software update it says there isn't one available. I'm on OS sierra and I have plenty of storage (400gb) so I'm not sure what to do

Hi, Jream162,

Try the below procedure to get the highest iMovie version that Sierra will run. It will work as long as you have, or once had but perhaps deleted, iMovie 10 on your Mac.

To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the

trash. Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash and return it to the Applications folder.
