Mac mini

Using new Mac mini (2020/M1) with a Dell S3221QS monitor. Connecting with HDMI cable. Cannot get the volume key, brightness keys to work. Launchpad, Mission Control, Pause/Play/FF do work. In order to adjust volume I have to either use the app or click on monitor controls to do so (cannot adjust in system preferences, no option for input). Any suggestions would be welcomed.

My keyboard volume and brightness controls don't work on M1 Mac mini I connected a LG 27UN850-W monitor to my M1 Mac Mini using a USB-C cable. Unfortunately, the function keys controlling brightness and volume do now work. I get sound from the monitors speakers, and the picture is great. But in order to change the volume, I must use the monitor's controls. Some online workarounds require installing third-party software. I'm reluctant to do that since I think the Mini should be able to handle these minor tasks natively.

Macbook Pro wont play audio on DELL S3222HN My New Macbook M1 PRO won't play out of the speakers of my New DELL S3222HN Monitor. The options is shown in System Settings. However when I click DELL S3222HN, the volume bar and mute clickbox disable. Anyone have any Ideas? My other drivers seem to work fine.

M1 MacMini and LG32UK550 Display - Screen is shifting left and up and no volume control I connected my new Mac MIni M1 to a 32" LG 32UK550 Display with a resolution of 3840x2160 with the HDMI cable provided with the monitor. In the "about this Mac" window the display is wrongly recognized as: LG HDR 4K (27"). Problem 1 When moving the pointer to the bottom of the screen, to the edge, the screen content moves up about 3-5 Pixels (It cuts off the top of the text of the menu bar). When moving the pointer to the right edge of the screen, the screen content moves to the left about 3-5 Pixels. The problem occurs in all screen resolutions. Also it the standard resolution which is wrongly set by the system. Problem 2 It is possible to set the volume of the sound effects on the keyboard and in the system settings. But: It is NOT possible to set the volume of sound output when using the monitors speakers. It is impossible to move the slider in the system settings (Output) and impossible to use the keyboard. I send feedback to Apple but would appreciate some advice.

FWIW with any Mac, many, many displays/TVs cannot be adjusted from within macOS

(volume/brightness), especially HDMI connected displays.

This is nothing new and has been this way for years.

Guess I have been fortunate to always have either an apple monitor (with my Mac pro's) or an iMac.

But alas, they have forced me into the non-apple world. Took for granted things like built in cameras for Zoom too.

Been to Dell's website, and cannot find this particular monitor. Went through all options.

Frustrating as I am so used to Apple products and the ease of using... but stuck with a Dell now.

Use StaticZ Sound Control which allows controlling HDMI sound.
