Why can’t control/restrict access to photos by Venmo app?

Venmo has no access to your photo library. You'll see this under Settings > Privacy > Photos.

Venmo is listed under apps with one-time photo selection. The app will not have access to your library.

Go to Settings > Privacy > Photos

Any app that has requested access, and the request status, will appear there.

Venmo isn’t accessing your photos. You are copying the photo from your photo library to Venmo.

Because Venmo can only access photos when you allow it to when setting it up. When you went to add your profile photo there was a dialog from iOS asking if Venmo could access your photos. That is a one-time approval.

Probably because the only photo that you would use in that app is the profile photo. You don't pay for things with photos.

As of today, July 20 3021, with IOS 14.7, I can control access to Location, Contacts, Camera, Face ID, Siri & Search, Notifications, Background App Refresh, and Cellular Data, but not Photos. I do see options to control access to Photos in other apps such as Instagram, Chrome, Messenger, etc.

Is this a bug or purposefully designed by Apple?!

Then do me a favor and I want you to access a photo in Venmo now that you have setup the app. I don't believe you will have access to a photo that you can share with anyone such as the other apps that you mentioned. Sharing your information is the only thing about the other apps that makes it a privacy issue. You are using a photo as a profile photo and not sharing anything else anywhere else with the public.
