usb c cable for macbook pro. belkin doesnt work...

trying to hook up my macbook pro to ethernet but belkin usb c doesnt work. any suggestions?

Try a different port...

Try the opposite side...

Try resetting NVRAM on Intel Mac—.NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

M1 SoC—The best you can do if you have an issue— equivalent Shut down, close the lid 30 secs+ , reboot as normal and if no resolve SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

USB-C adapters generally need sufficient power to handle anything attached to them. The best ones have a USB-C passthrough port supporting 100W power via the power adapter of the computer.

both are adapters that have worked well with Macs without need for drivers.
